We even got a chance to feed the giraffes crackers. Trivia: did you know that giraffes have long black tongues? When they eat they wrap their tongue around the object and pull it into their mouth.

Des Moines Zoo

While in Iowa we went to the Zoo with my Grandpa McEwen. I have never seen exotic animals so close before, some of the animals were within arms reach. The Des Monies Zoo beats the Phoenix Zoo hands down with no comparison. This peacock was just walking along the side walk with us.

Sophie and Peyton

Peyton idolizes Sophie, I don't know why. Maybe it is because Sophie is such an amazing young woman. I am proud to have her for my cousin, I only wish we lived closer so I could hang out with her more often. Although I would have to fight Peyton for her. Peyton was by Sophie's side every second of the trip, and had Sophie with drawls when we got back to Arizona. For weeks Peyton kept asking when she could see Sophie again.

Iowa Trip

Logan flew us all the way to Iowa, or so he thought. Nana helped me take the kids to Iowa and after two planes and a three hour layover we made it there safe and not too exhausted. The kids did surprisingly well on the trip thanks to goody bags stuffed full of play dough, crayons, paints, and movies.

Ponies at a birthday?

What a fun birthday party! Knights and Princesses, Castles and Ponies!!! There was no line at the ponies, so we took full advantage. Peyton rode the pony for at least a half hour. Can you guess what she wants to be when she grows up now?

Thank you to all of Peyton's family and friends who attended her dance. Peyton's new aspirations are to be a dancer when she grows up. She just loves all of the attention, not to mention the flowers.

Peyton gives us Fever in her exciting performance. She loves going to dance. Well, everything except for putting on the tights. She did an amazing job dancing. To bad we were in Iowa for the real performance, thank goodness there was a dress rehearsal.
